Tis’ the Season for Pure Imagination
BRIEF
To celebrate the premire of the new Wonka movie by transforming Darling Square into a real-life embodiment of Pure Imagination. Taking inspiration from themes of delight, dreams, and magic woven into the Wonka narrative, and showcase key elements like the iconic Wonka logo, the vibrant purple umbrella, and whimsical giant lollies.
RESPONSE
Our customer journey at Darling Square commenced under the iconic slatted awning, featuring the Exchange Building as its backdrop. Entering through vertical banners mirroring those in the film, guests discovered 75 Pantone-perfect umbrellas beneath a fairy-light tunnel, adorned with reflective gold acrylic Wonka logos. This whimsical experience served as a captivating placemaking display, drawing attention from afar and inviting people into the Square.
Collaborating with a local manufacturer, we created transparent bubble cloud forms to protect realistic fairy floss material, symbolizing the clouds from the film. These clouds, suspended within a fairylit tree canopy, formed a magical space, complemented by mirror gold Wonka logos.
To pay homage to Wonka chocolate, we crafted a larger-than-life chocolate bar façade for a 4.6m long harvest table, complete with gold acrylic wrapper details, routered chocolate features, and a bench seat drip effect. This collective arrangement truly embodied the enchanting world of Wonka’s pure imagination.
