QIC

It’s not Rocket Science

BRIEF

Develop an interactive and educational space themed pop-up workshop set, designed to travel to various QIC centers over a two-year period. This setup was to complement a collection of inflatable artworks themed around space, making the experience cohesive. The space should accommodate multiple always-on, interactive activities and curated hands-on workshops. The goal is to encourage repeated visits, boost foot traffic, foster local partnerships, and offer children enjoyable STEM-themed programming activities for an immersive learning experience.

RESPONSE

The Event Space transformed QIC centers across Australia with an immersive Space Station workshop experience featuring a bespoke celestial design. The 7 by 9 meter set showcased a captivating space scape with vibrant gradients, bold patterns, and strong shapes. Customers entered the space through a hexagon tunnel with strip lighting and rocket-inspired details, setting the stage for a sensory journey to another world.

Inside, a custom built mission control-style curved table with 12 round stools became the focal point for hands-on workshops and experiments for kids. A Suit Up Zone allowed kids to change into custom astronaut costumes, completing the immersive experience. Some centers received additional enhancements in the form of interactive pods, offering games, fun facts, and photo opportunities. The modular design of the workshop set and pods accommodated various footprints, providing customers with interactive and educational experiences in space-themed environments.
